«School uniform in Britain»

Цели: — расширениесоциокультурной осведомленности;

        — формирование позитивногоотношения к школьной форме

Задачи: — ознакомить с историейшкольной формы в России и Великобритании

          — развиватьнавык аудирования

          — расширитьсловарный запас по теме «Одежда»

          — развиватьнавык аналитического чтения

          — развиватьумение выражать свое мнение на английском языке

 

1.Вступление

Good morning dearstudents and our guests. We are glad to see you today.

We’re going to have anunusual lesson and talk about school uniform in Britain.

But first of all let’srevise some words about clothes. For each exercise and correct answer you’llget an element of clothes.

And now we want to tellyou about the history of school uniform in Britain. Our students were dividedinto two groups and have researched the school uniform of the 20thand 21st century.

Let’s listen about thehistory of uniform.

It’s hard to imagineschool where pupils can wear casual clothes. Every school wants to disciplinethe students and the school uniform is the best way.

In some countries schooluniform is not just the element of clothes, but the face of traditions of thegovernment. According to this fact it has got as similarities as interestingdifferences.

School uniform in Englandhas appeared under the King Henry the IIIV. It was the long dark-blue coat.They believed dark-blue colour can teach children humility. This colour alsowas the cheapest one.

One of the mostinteresting fact is that school uniform was made specially for poor children.During the time the private school used school uniform as a symbol ofproudness.

School uniform of boysconsists of the shorts and jackets. They wear shorts with knee socks. There wasa shirt under the jacket. They wear white shirts for special events. Teenagerswear trousers. They also wear black shoes. In winter time pupils wearpullovers.

Girls wear blouses, longskirt and aprons. They also wear dresses and white blouses. They wear whiteknee socks or tights and black shoes.

The main feature ofEnglish school uniform is logotype. All pupils wear this symbol with a sense ofproudness. The logotype was a privilege of school. It was usually on the tiesor jackets.

England continues toobserve traditions. Each respectable school has strict dress-code. The schoolmakes decision what school uniform to wear.

Modern school uniformincludes the variety of bright colours. It is not necessary to wear only darkcolours now.  Pupils can wear red or burgundy.

The girls can wearblouses of different colours. Now they wear not only skirts but trousers.Girls’ school uniform also consists of jackets and       . In winter time theycan wear jumpers. So they can make their school uniform variable.

Modern boys usually wearblack or blue trousers, white or blue shirt and shoes. Many boys wear trainersinstead of shoes. In winter time they wear jacket or jumpers with logotype ofschool. It is also popular to wear ties.

Our students not onlyfound the information about school uniform in Britain, but make a project withopinion poll. Have a look.

5.Опрос.Представлениедиаграммы+видеоTodayschool uniform is usual element of clothes of each student. We have decided todo a project of what clothes student want to wear to school and foud theresults of an opinion poll to illustrate some of our ideas.

Girls.

In the opinion poll, wecan see that 75 % of girls prefer trousers to all other elements of clothes,while dress is the least popular element.

Looking at the figures inthe table, we can see that skirt are almost as popular as trousers. Anotherinteresting feature of the poll is that jeans as popular as blouses.

Boys.

In the opinion poll, wecan see that 70 % of boys prefer jeans to all other elements of clothes, whileshorts is the least popular element.

Looking at the figures inthe table, we can see that trousers are almost as popular as jeans. Anotherinteresting feature of the poll is that trainers as popular as shoes.

So we can see that pupilsagree to wear school uniform, but there is a problem connected with this topic.Nowadays it’s very popular to be active. So we believe that the best solutionto this problem would be change shoes into trainers.

We would like to concludeby saying, that school uniform is very important. It is a face of school anddiscipline for students. But it is also clothes students wear the most part ofthe day, so it should be comfortable. Maybe it would be great to wear jeans onetime a month.

6.Project.Создание общего проекта школьной формы на доске.

During the lesson youwere collected the elements of clothes. Now I give you a picture of a person,stick all the elements of clothes to a person and describe please yourpictures.
